I'm Saira Zobair, a highly experienced and qualified mathematics teacher passionate about helping students from Year 7 to Year 13 (ages 11-  18) achieve their full potential and excel in maths. With over 7 years of experience teaching in a top 10 school nationally (based on Progress 8 score), I have a proven track record of fostering significant academic growth in my students across a wide range of ages and abilities.

My commitment to excellence is reflected in the outstanding progress my students consistently make. In 2024, the Subject Progress Index score for Year 11 pupils in my class was an impressive 2.04, demonstrating the exceptional value and impact the teaching and learning environment I contribute to.

My passion for mathematics is underpinned by a BSc Mathematics degree. I firmly believe in the power of a strong mathematical foundation and strive to impart this understanding to my students. Furthermore, I am currently expanding my analytical and problem-solving skills by pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science, further enriching my understanding of mathematical concepts and their real-world applications.

Throughout my teaching career, I have gained significant experience working with a variety of examination boards, including Edexcel, AQA, and OCR for GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics. I am familiar with the specific content, assessment styles, and expectations of each board, ensuring that my students receive targeted and effective preparation for their exams. Additionally, I have experience teaching A Level Mathematics (Edexcel), providing a solid foundation for students progressing to advanced studies.

My role as a tutor is first and foremost as a facilitator of learning. I believe in empowering students to develop their own problem-solving skills. Rather than simply providing answers, I focus on probing and questioning students to guide them towards finding solutions independently. This approach fosters deeper understanding, builds confidence, and equips students with the critical thinking skills necessary for long-term success in mathematics.
